| Career Summary:
Clair Altemus is a 1970 graduate of Seneca Valley High School and attended Salem College in West Virginia graduating in 1974.
He has coached at North Allegheny High School, Seneca Valley High School and Grove City High School before arriving at Pine-Richland in 1997.
The Ram football program has seen a steady increase in participants and victories at the 7th grade, 8th grade, 9th grade and varsity levels. The Rams have won 5 section titles, a WPIAL Championship and were runner-up PIAA State Champions.
Coach Altemus has been named as the "Coach of the Year" three times, twice at Pine-Richland and once at Grove City. In 2003, he was honored by KDKA as the Triple A Coach of the Year and presented the Pittsburgh Coach's Corner Award.
He has coached in the prestigious Big 33 All-Star game (PA. vs. Ohio) and in the NAFCA All-Star game. This year marks the 32nd year of coaching for Coach Altemus and his 10th year at Pine-Richland. He currently ranks second to legendary Ram coach Gene Sullivan in victories and winning percentage.
Coach Altemus has four daughters, twins Kelly and Leslie (30) Shayna (15) and Marissa (14).
